54th National Film Awards Ceremony on September 2

The 54th National Film Awards will be presented by The Honorable President of India, Prathiba Patil on September 2.

Dada Saheb Phalke award, one of the high-status awards, will be presented to the renowned Bengali film-maker Tapan Sinha.


Best Actor award has gone to Soumitra Chatterjee for Bengali film “Podokkhep”.
Best actress award has gone to Priyamani for her role in Tamil film ” Paruthi Veeran”.
Priyanandan’s Malayalam film Pulijanmam bagged the award for the Best Film.
Best film Director for the year 2006 has gone to Madhur Bhandarkar for Hindi film “Traffic Signal”.
Best Hindi Film went to debutant director Dibakar Bannerjee’s hit film Khosla Ka Ghosla.
“Lage Raho Munna Bhai” has bagged the National Award for best popular film.

The personal conversation between Simbu and Nayanthara to shock her

In the forthcoming project of Silambarasan’s “Silambattam” the actor had performed many dialogues which points Nayanthara. It is known to everyone that Nayan and Simbu loved and then splits. After their split Simbu tries his best to make new relationship with her but Nayan doesn’t even mind him. At times Simbu took photos at events and parties with Nayan but nothing works for Simbu. Doing all this Nayanthara not impressed and not even gave any signs showing love with him. Because of this in his “Silambattam” movie there are many scenes which indirectly attacking Nayanthara.

In a scene one of Simbu’s friend will comments him for that Simbu will attack Nayanthara in that scene. More than this there were buzzes that Simbu included some of the personal conversation between Simbu and Nayanthara to shock her. Hope the Censor board will not cut these dialogues.

Bollywood Actress Mallika Sherawat in Kollywood now

After Dasavatharam, looks like Mallika Sherawat is the flavor of Kollywood now. Mallika Sherawat’s romantic Bollywood movie in 2005, Bachke Rehna Re Baba, is now being dubbed in Tamil as Mallika Kamini.

Mallika has a role with a difference in this movie where she plays an seductress who plots to entrap wealthy men by her looks and then forces them to pay a ransom. Rekha plays Mallika’s aunt in this movie, which was directed by Govindh Menon.

The movie did not do well in bollywood. It will be released by released by Mani Enterprises in Tamil Nadu as Mallika Kamini.

Speaking near the Chepaul cricket stadium where Tamil film stars were on hunger strike in support of the Hogenekkal drinking water project, Rajnikanth the superstar blasted Karnataka politicians over water project.Rajnikanth blasted by saying

I unequivocally condemn Karnataka for this reprehensible act of denying us what is rightfully ours. Those who are raising the issue are doing it for the elections.

A national political party I respect is forcing me to wonder by its despicable acts whether there is (rule of law) in this country (guaranteed by) the Supreme Court.

Without naming Yediyurappa, Rajni said

It was a cheap act by a leader of a big national party and an election gimmick. I do not approve it. The party’s (BJP) Tamil Nadu unit is keeping quiet, he added.

Rajinikanth requested the Tamil Nadu leaders including Kalaignar that,

This issue should be nipped in the bud. This is the right occasion

Rajini warned the leaders like Deve Gowda, Kumarasamy, Yediyuurappa, and Siddharamaiyya, that the people would teach them lesson if they continue to play with the issue for political gains.

People are equal to God. They would not remain silent if you continue to act in such manner , thundered the Superstar.

Rajinikanth was given the award for Entertainer of the Year from our Prime Minister

Rajinikanth was given the award for Entertainer of the Year from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the NDTV Indian of the Year Awards in New Delhi on January 17. Rajinikanth while talking on the occasion said that he is honoured with the award and is happy to receive the award from the hands of our Prime Minister.

Speaking out for the first time on joining politics, superstar Rajnikanth, said that God has given him an actor’s role, but if he gives him a politician’s role, he will accept it. Rajini went to New Delhi along with wife Latha to recieve the award.

A R Rahman, was given NDTV’s Music Award, the Leader of the Year award was given to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Shahrukh Khan, won a special NDTV award for his contribution to cinema in 2007. The Business Leader of the Year award went to Mukesh Ambani and the Sportsman of the Year was Vishwanathan Anand.

Raman Thediya Seethai Controversies galore for

Looks like trouble is the middle name for Raman Thediya Seethai. The movie was recently in news when the unit had used the vehicle registration number of a revenue department officer without obtaining proper permissions. A complaint was filed with the police against director Jegan.

Now the crew of Raman Thediya Seethai is in deeper trouble with an old women’s death who was hit by a jeep during the shooting.

The shooting of the film is in progress at Boothapandi in Kanyakumari district. During the shooting, 12 vehicals were involved, which were going to parade for a minister in the scene. Hundreds of people were gathered to watch this shoot in the village. The last vehicle, which was the jeep, hit a old women Kuttralammal(62) and she was thrown afar. She was admitted in a hospital, where she died the next day.

The local inspector has registered a case against the driver of the jeep and the director. Shooting has been temporarily stopped.

If this continues with the movie, it will be a long time before Raman finds his Seetha.
