It is known to all that Bollywood’s talented actor and director Aamir Khan does not believe in awards and never accepts the other than the national and other prestigious awards. But this time, he is ready to accept the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial foundation award given to him for his masterpiece, Taare Zameen Par.
The Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial foundation was formed in the late 1998 by a well known Telugu writer Gollapudi Maruthi Rao in the memory of his late son Srinivasa, who died in an accident while making a film. The foundation is known for honoring those brilliant people who masters in the field of direction. Taare Zameen Par has been selected among the 19 nominations.
Aamir was the choice of the jury members Kamal Hassan and director Singitam Srinivasa including others. He will fly to Chennai on August 12 to receive the award and to honor their choice. TZP has proved his capability of directing films. For TZP, he has received many accolades all over the country. Filmfare awards also honored him with the best direction award but as usual he stayed away from it. The producer of the film accepted it on his behalf. It’s been a long year that he stopped accepting it as he believes that a good work is always a masterpiece and it does not require awards to prove its excellence.
